The National Civics Bee® is an annual competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
Participating 6th, 7th and 8th grade students flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. Students respond to a 3-question essay prompt proposing ideas to improve their communities. Essays are due February 4, 2025. In partnership with the Richard Nixon Foundation, the first annual National Civics Bee® Regional Competition is taking place on March 12th, 2025! The subsequent California State Competition will occur at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. This year, state champs will travel to Washington, D.C. to compete for the national title! |

It's easy to participate! If you are a middle school student, submit your 500-word essay in response to the following prompt: Identify a problem facing your community. How might you solve the problem? for consideration and you are in the contest!

Where & When is it?
The Yorba Linda competition will be hosted at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum in Yorba Linda, CA.

Judges select finalists to advance to local competitions to compete for trophies, prizes, and recognition. Local competitions take place in-person between early March and early May.
